I had such a fantastic weekend at the Orkney Folk Festival
last weekend, HUGE thanks to everyone who works so tirelessly to make it such a massive success. I had a blast playing with Fara
for our first ever gigs, thanks to the girls for a great time. Thank you to Calum Morrison for playing guitar with me, we had a great gig in Evie. I talked on saturday about my project which looks at my family links to Canada, thanks again to Calum and to cousin Alice Tait for joining me and playing some music at that and thanks to Bob and the festival for allowing me to do it. Highlight of the weekend has to be the Transatlantic Gathering concert, which was an honor to be part of, thanks to Douglas Montgomery for organising such a great thing and to all the musicians who I had the chance to play with at it, it was a lot of fun. I particularly enjoyed the boys v girls fiddle-off, c’mon the girls! Commiserations lads, you did try your best, but better luck next time..
Can’t wait for Orkney Folk Fest 2015!
